Third-party measurement, not a vendor claim. Closes the measured-speed gap for the hybrid class: the collection had derived byte rates for hybrid models (qwen35-35b-a3b, granite-4, gemma-4) but no timed decode at a stated context. At 40,960 tokens Qwen3.5-9B decodes at 69.7 tok/s against Qwen3-8B at 56.3 tok/s, and at 32,768 it is 93.9 against 63.4. The gap widens with context, which is what a cache that only grows on 8 of 32 layers should do. CONCURRENCY, the number that matters on a small card: the same 54.94 GiB of free memory holds 35.1 concurrent 40K requests for the hybrid model and 9.77 for the dense one, a 3.6x advantage. REDUCTION VERSUS FULL GQA ON THE SAME SKELETON: 131,072 / 32,768 = 4.0x, and it does not depend on context length because the linear layers contribute a fixed 0.56 MiB rather than a windowed cache. Absolute bf16 cache at 40K is 1.25 GiB instead of 5.0 GiB. CAVEAT: the linear-attention state is fp32 in the config and is not included in the per-token rate; at 0.56 MiB it does not move the comparison. No quality delta is stated, because the hybrid layout is how the model was trained, not a codec applied afterwards. The card is an A100 80GB, above the consumer-GPU preference, but the quantity measured is the cache footprint and the single-stream decode it produces, and both transfer to a smaller card.
