Cerebras SDK Examples README (CSL)

sources/alt-cerebras-sdk-examplesNotes
The Cerebras SDK examples repo is the closest thing Cerebras has to a public software-stack record, and it is telling that the SDK's native language is CSL, not Python. Facts: the repo contains examples of CSL (Cerebras Software Language) code, each self-contained and compilable with the CSL compiler; compiled code runs either on a FABRIC SIMULATOR or on Cerebras hardware, and each example ships run.py (creates inputs, runs, compares against an expected result computed in Python), commands.sh with the exact compile-then-simulate commands, and .rst docs. SDK access requires registration (cerebras.ai/developers/sdk-request) - the compiler and simulator are gated, unlike every other stack in this repo. Tutorial structure builds up to a GEMV over 10 progressive tutorials, plus 15 language-feature tutorials, 3 pipelined-computation tutorials, and 5 tutorials on the new SdkLayout API for program layout specification which is explicitly IN BETA. The benchmarks folder is HPC-shaped, not LLM-shaped: GEMV and GEMM via a collectives library, 25-point and 7-point stencils, spmv-hypersparse, conjugate gradient / PCG / BiCGSTAB, Cholesky, FFT, power-method, plus hardware demos (bandwidth-test, row-col-broadcast using memcpy_h2d_rowbcast/colbcast, histogram-torus, mandelbrot on a 16x16 grid of PEs, single-tile-matvec, game-of-life with each PE as one cell). Branches are cut per SDK release so each tag matches an SDK version. Repo metadata via GitHub API 2026-10-04: created 2022-03-31, last push 2026-04-27, 55 stars, 15 forks, 2 open issues, Apache-2.0.
