Google 2025 Environmental Report (data center energy section, Figure 4 PUE)

Primary self-reported hyperscaler PUE. Average annual fleet-wide PUE 1.09 for 2024 - first time below 1.10 in six years - against a stated industry average of 1.56. Figure 4 charts fleet-wide trailing 12-month PUE 2009-2024 on a 1.08-1.20 axis. Methodology stated in the appendix: whole fleet (not only the newest sites), measured continuously through the year rather than in cool seasons, all overhead energy included, and a data center is only reported once it reaches stable operations. Google also reports >6x more computing power per unit electricity than five years earlier.
