notes
VERBATIM: 'The AMD Instinct MI325X OAM accelerator will have 256GB HBM3E memory capacity and 6 TB/s GPU peak theoretical memory bandwidth performance. Actual results based on production silicon may vary.' Footnote dated 'as of September 26th, 2024, based on current specifications and /or estimation.' Two things the record should carry: (1) AMD's verb is FORWARD-LOOKING - 'will have' - and this is a Performance Labs estimate 'based on current specifications and /or estimation', not a measured or shipping-part number; the record's memory_bandwidth_basis does say 'read it as ~6.0 TB/s theoretical, not measured', so the caveat is disclosed, but the 'will have' forward-looking framing is not. (2) AMD's figure is the rounded 6 TB/s; unlike MI300X there is NO arithmetic derivation printed on this page (8192-bit x 6 GHz data rate / 8 would give 6144 GB/s, so '6 TB/s' is a rounded marketing number, not the exact product of the stated clock and width). That is a genuine gap in the basis string: the record stores 6000 GB/s, not 6144.
