16GB is the hard limit - caps at <=14B dense / tight 20B. At ~$900 it costs about the same as a used 3090 with 8GB LESS VRAM and a less mature stack (ROCm 7/Vulkan; gfx1201 supported). Only makes sense if you also game or refuse Nvidia on principle. Not an LLM value buy.
